Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894) was a Scottish writer who is best known for Treasure Island and The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. ‘The Land of Story-Books’ was published in 1913 and describes a child immersed in imaginative play while his parents “sit at home and talk”.
